“THE HALF DRAGON”
Design a form of transportation using kitbashing techniques, airbrushing, & weathering.
PROCESS
I bought a number of found objects from the dollar store & Goodwill to inspire form, along with several model kits of airplanes & ships. I also used styrene plastic sheets & tubes to fill gaps & add details.

THE STORY
Five years ago, Dirk Stronghammer was a simple slave mechanic on the hostile mining planet of Bigrokk. Then a Universal Space Navy fighter crash-landed in his mandated living area. Dirk saw his chance to escape the daily abuse & hard labor of the Sludge-Oyl mines, but unfortunately, the left half of the fighter had been completely blown off. So he began gathering scraps of metal & other parts from the local junkyard, secretly stashing them in a cave near his living area & covering up the hole in his new escape ship. Now, Dirk and his girlfriend Diane Bootrunner are ready for takeoff in the Half Dragon - assuming it holds together through the planet’s toxic atmosphere…
